Because learning and growth is both a challenge and an adventure.

Heartland Center Challenge Adventures are custom designed to meet both personal and organizational developmental goals for business, community organizations, churches and individuals.

Heartland Center facilitators are trained and experienced to challenge your group while maintaining safe boundaries. We operate on the philosophy or “your challenge, your choice.” We will encourage individuals and groups to push beyond perceived boundaries, but will not pressure nor allow others in the group to pressure any participant to engage in activities outside of their own comfort or safety limits.

The Summit  ~ High Ropes Challenge Course

Reach new heights as you are challenged to overcome barriers on The Summit’s 40’ tower or zip through the air on our 220’ zip line! Trained facilitators will customize your challenges to meet your group needs.  Your experience can be designed to build self-confidence and awareness, focus on team support, and inclusion.  And it’s just plain fun!  Experiences average 3 hours in length, depending on the size of your group and can be tailored to be longer if necessary.

Participants must be at least 10 years old, wear closed-toed/closed-heeled shoes.  All safety equipment and orientation will be provided when you arrive for your adventure. (Closed November 15-March 10)

Activity Fee: (3 hours)

(Age 10-18) – $300 (up to 12 participants)   $25 for each additional participant

(Adult groups) – $450 (up to 15 participants $30 for each additional participant

NOTE: All participants need to complete a Release of Liability Form to participate in any Heartland Challenge Adventure (GPS, Edge Teams Challenge Course, Summit High Ropes Challenge Courset, Horse Trail Rides, and Swimming).  Please download and have the forms completed before arriving for your Challenge Adventure.  If you have any questions or concerns about your experience do not hesitate to contact us.  Activities may be subject to weather and time constraints.

The Edge ~ Team Challenge Low Ropes Course

Sharpen your edge as your group is challenged to think creatively and as a team to overcome obstacles and collaborate in unique ways.  The Edge activities average 2-3 hours but can be tailored to be longer or shorter to meet your programmatic needs.  You will be able to apply the lessons learned together to many areas of your daily lives.

Participants must be at least 10 years old, wear closed-toed/closed-heeled shoes.

Groups must provide 1 adult for every 10 children or youth.

Activity Fee:  (3 hours)

(Age 10-18) $250 (up to 12 participants) $18 for each additional participant

(Adult groups) $300 (up to 12 participants) $25 for each additional participant

GPS Adventures

Our GPS Adventure course ranges over 100 acres of wood lands and meadows.  The program is designed to offer a fun, team-oriented challenge and will be tailored to the needs of your group.  You will enjoy rambling through the woods searching for way-points with our state-of-the-art GPS units!  A guaranteed good time for your group! If you have the time and inclination, The Edge Team Challenge course is a great accompanying activity to the GPS Adventure.

 

Minimum age: 10 years old

(10-13 year olds)  1 adult required for every 4 youth;

(14-18 years old)  1 adult required for every 8 youth

Activity Fee: $200 (up tp 20 participants)    $10 for each additional participant

Heartland Challenge Adventures Leadership

Heartland Center is committed to a safe and meaningful experience in all of our Heartland Challenge Adventures. Our courses are all inspected annually by Beyond Ropes and certified to meet the standards of the ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology).

We have a group of experienced facilitators for our Challenge Adventure courses and for other leadership development and team-building activities.  All of our facilitators have completed training in strict accordance of the ACCT standards, and our course manager, Christelle Porter, has completed Course Manager Certification. All facilitators are also trained in First Aid and CPR.
