Amazing Race

My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task that Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 In the Amazing Race, campers compete in teams with dedicated counselors around the Kansas City area and beyond in a variety of activities. Campers complete challenges that bring them closer as friends and as Christians. Each stage builds to the next as racers overcome fun obstacles and crazy games. This camp is about making relationships, having fun and being in the running to be our 2012 Amazing Race champions! 5 night camp. Housed in Oak Place Lodge.

Challenge Camp

Come ready for an adventure that challenges you to go deeper in your friendships and deeper in your relationship with God. We’ll pack the week with challenges on our state of the art challenge course. Also, experience our low ropes course and the rest of our camp activities like swimming, archery, campfire cooking, etc. Form life long friendships and be at home in a community of Christ. Part of the challenge is to try new things and rely on each other.  5-night camp.  Housed in platform tents.

M.A.D.D. Camp

Music, art, dance and drama campers will have the chance to explore their creative side!  MADD camp will use their gifts to plan and lead their own unique worship experience.  Each day you will take time to practice different ways that glorify God.  Join us as we plan this one of a kind worship unlike any you’ve ever been to.  Senior Highs enjoy the same activities of camp while planning an awesome experience for parents and friends at 6:00 PM on Friday.  5-night camp.  Housed in Oak Place Lodge.

Service Partnership

Share your gifts with the Body of Christ this summer. This amazing service-oriented camp is one of the most loved experiences that HPC has to offer. Spend an awesome week serving adults with developmental disabilities. During this week of camp it is difficult to tell whose life is changed most; our campers, our staff or our Service Partners.  One thing is sure, this week is unlike any you’ve ever had!   In this camp, you will grow in ways you never dreamed of as you help lead these wonderful campers in Bible study, games, crafts, swimming and worship. 5 night camp. Housing in camper/counselor rooms in Pete’s Cabin, Trask House, and House of Faith. Service Partnership (Free with registration in another SH event.)

Work Camp

Join this community of Christ in preparing Heartland’s grounds for the rest of its summer. Work Camp is a partnership between the Presbytery of Northern Kansas and Heartland Center.  During the day we might be clearing trails, moving gravel, painting buildings, splitting wood or other jobs. At night you’ll enjoy camp activities like worship, horseback riding, swimming and our challenge course. Your week is capped off with a day at Worlds of Fun amusement park to celebrate! Serve with a purpose by joining us for a week of work and great fun making camp improvements. 5-day camp. PNK Work Camp        June 3-8         $215

Leadership Camp

This program is about service to others, obtaining leadership skills and having fun throughout all of it.  The Senior High Leadership program offers older campers an understanding of what it means to serve God and one another in a Christian community.  In this unique program SHL’s do a little of everything, from assisting in the Craft Lodge and Horse Corral, to leading games and helping with worship.  SHL’s also enjoy activities Heartland has to offer: swimming, playing on the high ropes course, campfires and lots more!  Campers can receive service hours for their work at camp.  Get ready to serve God and others, you’re going to have an amazing week.  ** All SHL applicants must complete a supplemental application.  The supplemental application will be sent to you after you complete your registration and must be completed and returned to camp to be enrolled in the program.
