Staff Alumni Giving Circle

Purpose Statement:

A group of Summer Staff Alumni, pooling our financial gifts together in the bonds of Christ's love for the enhancement of the camp, its programs, and its ministries.   During the year, each member will make a $300 gift (or $150 gift for student members) which is combined with all the other giving circle gifts.  At the end of the year, members will suggest and vote on improvement projects to fund at the camp with their communal gift.

Who?

The HPC Giving Circle is open to HPC summer staff alumni.

What's the big picture?
For over 50 years the Heartland Presbyterian Center has played a significant role in the lives of countless children and adults alike. Among the many, stand a special and uniquely significant group known as the Summer Staff. As the years draw on, more names are added to this list of the daring souls who chose to forsake the call of fat paychecks and free time for a significantly more trying and humbling summer occupation. Summers come and go, and with them go each staff, different than the staffs that came before and yet so similar that the stories which are shared seem to merge into a single, collective heartbeat.

This group is for each and every Alumni who shares this common bond. This is an attempt to bring together every person from the first staff to the most recent which chose to call Heartland home for the months of summer. Yes, it is called a giving circle and, as expected, there will be money involved, but that is not the main point. The overriding facet we wish to accomplish is connecting with every past staff member back to the beginning and letting them know that Heartland still cares about them and then banding together and collectively working to show that we still care about Heartland through our prayers, our time, and lastly, our money. It will also provide opportunities to share our experiences across the ages and remind us of the fact that, though we may have left Heartland, it still holds a special place in each and every one of our hearts.
